Many historic homes are preserved in Ocala’s large residential Historic District, designated in 1984. East Fort King Street features many excellent examples of Victorian architecture.
Take a boat tour of the Trail of Florida’s Indian Heritage and see ancient and contemporary Indian sites.

The Appleton Museum of Art is a major cultural center in the heart of Florida.

Though Ocala has many free standing businesses like Target, TJ Maxx, Lowes, Sam’s Club, and a Wal-Mart Super Center, Ocala also has a traditional mall called the Paddock Mall. The Paddock has several shops and restaurants for your enjoyment.

Most of Ocala’s residents get around by private vehicle, but Ocala does have a public transit option, and that is the Capital Crescent Trail it covers most of the area with six routes.
